Day by Day Activities.

Day 1: Pick-up from airport and transfer to Akagera National Park

Upon your arrival at the airport, our representative will be there to greet you and provide a smooth transfer to Akagera National Park. To ensure you’re fully rested and prepared for your safari adventure, we recommend spending an overnight in Kigali. The following day, embark on your journey to Akagera National Park, where you’ll enjoy a two-night stay at a superb lodge. The scenic drive from Kigali to the park typically takes 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival in the evening, unwind and relax at your lodge, indulging in a delicious dinner and settling in for a comfortable overnight stay amidst the natural splendor of Akagera.

Day 2. Game drive and boat cruise in the afternoon

Following an early breakfast, begin your thrilling game drive aboard an open-roof safari vehicle, offering optimal views for wildlife spotting. Expect sightings of hippos, elephants, impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, and more during your excursion. Return to the lodge for a satisfying hot lunch before continuing your adventure with a scenic boat cruise. After the cruise, embark on another exhilarating game drive en route back to your lodge. Spend the evening relaxing, enjoying a delicious dinner, and unwinding amidst the tranquil surroundings, ensuring a restful overnight stay.

Day 3. Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Today, after breakfast, you will do a game drive through the park as you head out to kickstart your journey to Volcanoes National Park via Kigali city. You will have lunch en route, arriving in the late evening for relaxation. You may choose to take a short walk around your lodge, visit the community or choose to stay at your lodge.

Day 4. Gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes National Park

Your gorilla trekking adventure commences with a hearty breakfast in the morning. Following breakfast, drive to the park headquarters equipped with a packed lunch, where you’ll meet the park ranger guide at 7 am for registration. The ranger will provide a comprehensive briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla tracking before leading you into the forest to begin the trek. The duration of the trek can vary from 1 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family, as they move in search of food. Amidst the captivating sounds of birdsong and sightings of other primates, the experience is sure to be exhilarating. Upon a successful trek, return to your lodge for a well-deserved period of relaxation.

Day 5. Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali

Begin your day with a delectable breakfast at the lodge before heading to the park headquarters with all your luggage and trekking gear for a pre-trek briefing. Accompanied by knowledgeable ranger guides, embark on an unforgettable golden monkey trekking experience that can last from 1 to 7 hours, depending on the distance the monkeys are foraging. Along the way, expect to encounter golden monkey habitats, rare plant species such as giant lobelia, diverse birdlife, and more. After a rewarding visit, transfer to Kigali Airport for your onward journey, filled with cherished memories of your Rwandan adventure.
