2 Days Uganda Gorilla Starting from Rwanda. This short safari offers an unforgettable encounter with the mountain gorillas of Uganda, starting and ending in Kigali, Rwanda. You’ll trek into the misty forests of Bwindi or Mgahinga and have the rare chance to observe gorillas in their natural habitat.
Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kigali or Kigali International Airport (around 7:00–8:00 AM) by your safari guide.
Drive through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills toward the Cyanika (for Mgahinga) or Katuna (for Bwindi) border post; cross into Uganda.
Total drive time: ~4–5 hours depending on the destination.
Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park around early afternoon. After lunch, you can enjoy optional activities like:
A community walk to meet local people and learn about their culture.
Visiting the Batwa pygmy community.
Relaxing at the lodge and enjoying views of the surrounding forest and volcanoes.
Overnight: Gorilla Mist Camp / Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (Bwindi) OR Mount Gahinga Lodge (Mgahinga)

Early breakfast, then head to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing at 7:30 AM.
Begin your gorilla trek at around 8:00 AM. The trek can take 2–6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family that day. Once you find them, you’ll have one magical hour to observe, photograph, and appreciate these endangered giants.
After the trek:
Return to the lodge for lunch and freshening up.
Begin the drive back to Kigali (~4–5 hours), arriving in the early evening.
Drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport (if you have an evening flight).
