5-Day Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Safari.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Your safari begins upon arrival at Entebbe, where a professional driver guide from Kenlink Tours welcomes you. After a short briefing, you start the scenic journey west toward Kibale National Park, famous for its rich primate population and tropical rainforest landscapes.

The drive takes you through beautiful countryside, tea plantations, traditional villages, and rolling hills. You will enjoy several stopovers for photography and refreshments along the way. By evening, you arrive near Kibale Forest where you check in at your lodge, relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee adventure.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking

After an early breakfast, you head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your exciting chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale National Park. This rainforest is one of Africa’s best destinations for viewing wild chimpanzees and other primates in their natural environment.

Guided by experienced rangers, you walk through the forest searching for the chimpanzee families while learning about their behavior and habitat. Once located, you spend an unforgettable hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact in the trees.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following breakfast, you depart Kibale and drive south toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The journey offers breathtaking scenery across western Uganda’s highlands and valleys.

You pass through the beautiful region around Queen Elizabeth National Park, often spotting wildlife along the way including elephants, antelopes, or baboons near the road. Lunch is served en route as you continue through changing landscapes toward Bwindi.

Arriving in the evening, you check in at your lodge near the park. Surrounded by thick rainforest and misty hills, the atmosphere builds excitement for the following day’s unforgettable gorilla trekking experience.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and Community Tour

After an early breakfast, you report to the park headquarters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing from park rangers. You are then assigned a gorilla family group and begin trekking through dense forest in search of the magnificent mountain gorillas.

The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family, but the experience is truly rewarding. Once found, you spend one magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, groom, and interact peacefully in their natural habitat.

In the afternoon, you enjoy a cultural encounter with the local community living around Bwindi. This may include a visit to traditional homesteads, craft markets, or a cultural performance where you learn about the traditions and lifestyles of communities living near the forest.

Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe for Departure

After breakfast, you depart Bwindi and drive to Entebbe for your outbound flight. driving toward the vibrant capital city of Kampala

Note:

1. You need to carry long sleeved jumper/rain jacket to use for gorilla hiking
2. Both trekking need waking up early and be at the briefing point at 7:30am
3. Ensure you communicate to the tour guide in time in case of any special need so he can plan.
