3 Days Safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This three-day safari is designed to immerse you in the rich wildlife, dramatic scenery, and relaxed pace of one of Uganda’s most celebrated protected areas. From scenic countryside drives and rewarding game viewing to a memorable boat cruise along a wildlife-rich channel, the experience balances adventure with comfort. Ideal for travelers with limited time, the safari begins and ends in central Uganda and offers excellent opportunities to see big game, birds, and stunning natural features.
Your safari adventure starts early in the morning with a pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe. You travel westward through picturesque countryside marked by rolling hills, tea plantations, and lively rural communities, offering a glimpse into everyday Ugandan life. A stop for lunch is made along the way before continuing toward the park.
You arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon and check in at your lodge, where you have time to relax and enjoy the surrounding wilderness. Later, you set out for a gentle evening game drive, a perfect introduction to the park’s savannah ecosystem. During this drive, you may encounter elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and other plains wildlife as the sun sets over the horizon. After the drive, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you depart for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, one of the prime wildlife areas within the park. The early hours are ideal for wildlife activity, increasing your chances of spotting predators such as lions and, with luck, elusive leopards. Large herds of buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes are commonly seen grazing across the open savannah, while birdlife adds color and movement to the landscape.
Following the game drive, you return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you head out for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a highlight of any visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This natural channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward and supports one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa. As you glide along the water, you enjoy close-up views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants coming to drink, and a remarkable variety of water birds. The cruise offers excellent photography opportunities and a relaxed way to experience wildlife. Dinner and overnight are at the lodge.
After breakfast, you have the option to participate in an additional activity depending on your interests. You may choose a guided nature walk to explore the park on foot, learning about smaller wildlife, plants, and tracks, or visit nearby crater lakes for sweeping views and scenic photography. For those seeking a primate experience, an early morning chimpanzee tracking excursion in Kyambura Gorge can be arranged, subject to permit availability.
