Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your tour begins upon arrival in Kampala or Entebbe, where you will meet our friendly Kenlink Tours guide. After a short briefing about the trip, you’ll embark on a scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in southwestern Uganda.

The drive takes you through the rolling hills of western Uganda, lush tea plantations, and lively roadside markets. You will enjoy a stop at the Equator line in Kayabwe, where you can take memorable photos and enjoy a coffee before proceeding to Mbarara for lunch.

In the evening, you will arrive at Bwindi, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The park is also rich in birds and plant species. Check into your lodge, enjoy dinner, and relax as you prepare for the next day’s thrilling adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

Today is the highlight of your Uganda tour — gorilla trekking! After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll then be assigned to a gorilla family and begin the trek through the thick forest.

The trekking duration varies from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once you find them, you’ll spend an unforgettable one hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, play, and interact in their natural environment. This intimate encounter is one of Africa’s most emotional and rewarding wildlife experiences.

After the trek, you’ll return to your lodge for lunch and a relaxed afternoon. Later, you may choose to take a short walk to visit a local craft market or a nearby community to experience how people live around the forest.

Day 3: Batwa Cultural Experience and Local Community Visit

On this day, immerse yourself in Uganda’s rich cultural heritage by visiting the Batwa Pygmies, the original inhabitants of Bwindi Forest. The Batwa will share stories of their ancient lifestyle as forest hunters and gatherers. You’ll enjoy traditional dances, songs, and even demonstrations of how they made fire and hunted small animals.

Later, you’ll visit a nearby banana brewing site to learn how locals make banana beer, and stop by a traditional healer’s home to hear about herbal medicine. This experience offers a deep understanding of the local communities’ culture and how they coexist with the gorillas.

In the afternoon, relax at your lodge or take a guided nature walk to enjoy the breathtaking forest scenery.

Day 4: Return to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy lunch en route and admire the beauty of the Ugandan countryside one last time. Your guide will drop you off at your preferred location — either your hotel or the airport for your flight back home.
