Groups are assigned their gorilla family, introduced to their lead Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger, and briefed on park regulations before setting off to the trailhead. Best Time to Trek in Rushaga

Rushaga — like all of Bwindi — is a year-round gorilla trekking destination. The wet seasons of March to May and September to November bring lush, atmospheric forest conditions and generally shorter permit lead times, and the gorillas move through the forest regardless of rainfall. A raincoat and waterproof boots are essential at any time of year.
