Safari Overview

This safari is ideal for travelers who want to experience Uganda’s primates alongside its famous savannah wildlife. You will track chimpanzees in Kibale Forest, enjoy game drives and a boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and conclude with a life-changing gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.


Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Kampala or Entebbe Hotel

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. Depending on arrival time, you may relax at the hotel or enjoy a short city or lakeside excursion.

Day 2: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, driving through scenic countryside, tea plantations, and traditional villages. Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a relaxed walk around the crater lakes or community areas near the park.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

Today is dedicated to chimpanzee tracking, one of Uganda’s most exciting primate experiences. After a briefing by park rangers, enter the forest to search for chimpanzees. Once located, you will spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, known for birdlife and cultural encounters.

Day 4: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse wildlife reserves. Arrive in time for lunch and later head out for an afternoon game drive, spotting elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and possibly lions.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Start the day with an early morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. Return for breakfast, then enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its high concentration of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and bird species.

In the afternoon, drive south to the Ishasha sector or continue toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

This is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. Accompanied by expert rangers, trek through dense forest to find a habituated gorilla family.

Once found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas as they feed, play, and interact. Return to the lodge to relax and reflect on this extraordinary experience.

Day 7: Return to Entebbe – Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe with scenic stops along the way, including the Equator crossing. Alternatively, you may opt for a domestic flight back to Entebbe, depending on your schedule.

Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
