After a short briefing, you embark on a scenic 6-hour drive to Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The drive takes you through the lush hills of Rwanda’s Western Province, passing Lake Kivu and the vibrant town of Cyangugu before reaching the Ruzizi Border.
After clearing immigration, you cross into Bukavu, a lively lakeside city near Kahuzi-Biega National Park. Upon arrival, check into your lodge for dinner and relaxation as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.
