The journey begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe, heading southwest through Uganda’s scenic countryside, dotted with rolling hills, lush tea plantations, and traditional villages. You will enjoy breathtaking views of the Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa,” before arriving at your accommodation near the national park.

The highlight of this tour is the gorilla trekking experience, where you will hike through dense jungle terrain, guided by expert park rangers who track and monitor the gorilla families daily. Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour observing their behavior, watching as they feed, groom, and interact with one another. Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park / Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe, heading southwest toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The scenic drive takes approximately 8–9 hours, passing through Uganda’s picturesque countryside, rolling hills, and lush tea plantations. You will have a stop at the Equator for photos and a brief experiment before continuing through the beautiful Kigezi Highlands.

Lunch will be enjoyed en route in Mbarara or Kabale, before proceeding to your lodge near the park. Upon arrival, you will check in, relax, and later enjoy a cultural experience with the Batwa pygmies (optional), learning about their traditional way of life. Enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay, preparing for the next day’s gorilla trek.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kampala / Entebbe

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then embark on a guided trek into the dense jungle, searching for a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take 2–6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Upon locating them, you will spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants up close.

After the trek, you will have lunch before beginning the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving in the evening with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s gorillas.
