Transport from Kigali to Bwindi National Park

Transport from Kigali to Bwindi National Park. Are you currently in Kigali, Rwanda, and looking for reliable transportation to Kisoro or Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your much-anticipated gorilla trekking experience? Or perhaps you’re already in Kisoro town and need a comfortable and professional transfer to start your gorilla tracking adventure? If your answer to either of these questions is yes, then Kenlink Tours is here to assist you.

Kenlink Tours is a trusted tour operator with an office in Kisoro town, located just a few kilometers from the Uganda-Rwanda border. Our proximity to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park makes us the ideal local company to help you arrange transport to your trekking destination quickly, affordably, and safely.

Private and Shared Transfers to Bwindi and Mgahinga

At Kenlink Tours, we offer private and shared vehicle transfers to all the key gorilla tracking sectors in southern Bwindi, including Rushaga, Nkuringo, and Ruhija, as well as Mgahinga Gorilla National Park via the Ntebeko Gate. Our fleet includes comfortable safari vehicles such as Toyota Land Cruisers, TXs, and Super Customs—perfect for navigating the mountain terrain of southwestern Uganda.

Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or in a small group, we ensure the transfer is smooth and enjoyable. If more than one traveler is heading to the same location on the same day, we offer shared vehicle rates, making the journey more affordable for everyone. Our prices are charged per vehicle, not per person, and every trip includes fuel, an experienced driver-guide, and bottled drinking water while you’re in the car.

Flexible Pickup Options – Entebbe, Kampala, Kigali, and Kisoro

While most travelers opt for pickup from Kigali, we also offer transport from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. If you’re arriving at Kisoro Airport, we can pick you up and drive you to your lodge or gorilla trekking gate in southern Bwindi or Mgahinga.

Just share your travel plans with us, and Kenlink Tours will handle the logistics, ensuring a punctual and professional service from your point of entry to your final destination.

Kigali to Bwindi National Park Transfers

Many international visitors choose to fly into Kigali, Rwanda, due to its proximity to southern Bwindi. The drive from Kigali to the Rushaga and Nkuringo gates of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes approximately 4–5 hours, depending on traffic and border procedures at the Cyanika border.

At Kenlink Tours, we offer both one-way and round-trip transfers between Kigali and Bwindi. Whether you need a pickup from your Kigali hotel, the international airport, or anywhere else in the city, we’ll meet you on time and take you directly to your destination in Uganda.

Kigali to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park Transfers

If your plan includes tracking gorillas in Mgahinga or hiking Mount Sabyinyo, we also offer convenient transfers from Kigali to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. This scenic drive takes about 4 hours and passes through the beautiful Rwandan countryside and over the border at Cyanika.

Though there are public transport options from Kigali to the Uganda border, such as buses and minibuses, these are generally less efficient, less comfortable, and can cause delays that may impact your itinerary. Choosing Kenlink Tours ensures you arrive on time and in comfort, with ample space for your luggage and stops along the way if needed.

Public Transport Options from Kigali to Kisoro

For budget travelers, it is possible to travel from Kigali to Kisoro using public transportation. From Nyabugogo Bus Terminal in Kigali, you can catch a bus to Musanze (formerly Ruhengeri). From Musanze, you will need to get a shared minibus or taxi to the Cyanika border crossing.

Once you’ve crossed into Uganda at Cyanika, you can either hire a local sedan car or take a motorbike taxi—known locally as a boda boda—to Kisoro town, which is just about 10 km away.

While this route is certainly doable, it can be time-consuming, particularly if you’re carrying heavy luggage or traveling late in the day. Public transportation may also involve waiting for vehicles to fill up before departure. If time and comfort are a priority, we recommend booking a direct transfer with Kenlink Tours instead.
